alzina Wild Roots

Project Alzina presents Wild Roots, an educational project that is dedicated to ages 6-12. Offering regular Forest School sessions, special workshops, wild camping nights and walking routes that explore the local areas.

our objective

Our objective is to create a safe space to learn and belong. Rooted in the rhythms of nature, we nurture curiosity, creativity, and independence, helping children grow into resilient and confident individuals. Now in our fifth year, we continue to strengthen the bond between children and the natural world.

Forest School Sessions

As part of the Wild Roots programme we offer Forest School day sessions for children aged 6-12 every Friday and one Saturday per season . Our program blends English language learning with outdoor exploration, free play, and a strong sense of community.

These days are about much more than structured activities — they are about belonging, building friendships, forming a tribe, and sharing meaningful adventures in nature.

Through child-led, long-term projects, children engage in survival and bushcraft activities, creative workshops, and real-life skill building, all while naturally absorbing English in a fun and engaging way.

learn english in a natural way

English is woven organically throughout our programmes:

  • Storytelling Circles – building confidence in speaking and listening

  • Creative Writing – journals, poems, plays, and group storytelling

  • Vocabulary in Context – plants, weather, and real-world observations

  • Drama & Role Play – learning through imagination and movement

In our bilingual community, children learn from one another as much as from facilitators. Both Catalan and English are spoken and understood, with a strong focus on making language learning joyful and natural.
